Please don't ask!

Many, many, well-meaning friends and family members are asking me if I'm ready for Ally to leave for camp tomorrow.  I think they probably already know the answer to their question...so I don't answer!  It is taking every ounce of energy in my body to remain positive and hold it all together.  I certainly don't want Ally to see me upset because that would upset her.

Ally wrote about how she is counting down to camp the other day.  Well, here is how I have been preparing for camp...A.V.O.I.D.A.N.C.E.

I waited until today to start packing her things.

I have been filling my days with lots of fun so that I don't have time to think about it.

Visiting with D Mama's  :)

My visit with Heather and Hallie!

Swimming with D friends!
Fun afternoon swimming with Brianna and Sweetpea!

But even with all this excitement...it was looming around in my head.

Ally is ready to go!  She and a friend made t-shirts to get themselves pumped about camp.

She is ready!  And I am scared to death.  How in the world am I going to get through drop off tomorrow?  For her sake, I want to keep it together.  I just don't know how.

  1. I hear you!! I avoided a lot the week before Bean went...didn't go get the things she needed and didn't have until the day before so they weren't sitting on the counter mocking me! ;)
It's very important for you to keep it together for her, but at the same time it's OK for her to see that you are nervous...will give her 'permission' to show her nervousness, too, because trust me as much as she's excited, she's nervous, too!
If my never slept away from home, picky eater, overly emotional diva 7 year old could stick it out and have a fabulous time, I'm sure Ally will ace it!
And if I can make it through (and especially Ubergeek!) you can do it too!! It will feel weird, it will seem like a part of you is missing, but it will be all worth it, I PROMISE!!
    HUGS!!!!
